THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR
The equinox is a time to reflect on the dual nature of the God. While the Goddess is a constant, the God cycles. Representing both life and death, the God is both a Sun and Earth deity; embodying the Oak King and Horned God respectively. At the Vernal Equinox, the solar energies birthed at Yule unite with the earthly energies growing out of Imbolg to bring forth life and the rising of the God at Ostara.
The God at Ostara
“Alala!” Hear the battle cry of the God as the Sun moves into Mars-guided Aries, the sign of action, initiation, and the warrior, and the first sign of the zodiac. Day and Night are equally matched today but, at the end of the battle, Day will win and daylight hours will begin to outnumber the dark.
Yule marked the God’s birth. At Imbolg, he embodied growth for the entire group as the Lord of Life. After maturing through Pisces and understanding his transcendent role as both son and father, the Wheel of the Year turns to birth new life as the God bursts forth full of vitality and virility!
The Goddess at Ostara
As for the Goddess, She gained a sense of herself in Leo and has spent the last month growing and maturing through the earth sign, Virgo (Virgin meaning “whole unto Herself”). Now, the Goddess ascends from the earth and moves into harmonizing, Venus-guided, Libra. In the partnering sign of Libra, the fertile Goddess looks to unite with the virility of the God to resurrect life on earth; her soil is ready for seed.
GIRDLE OF THE GODDESS
In the language of Theodomy, the 12 signs of the zodiac are further divided into 36 primordial energies of the divine feminine, called the Girdle of the Goddess.
At the time of Ostara, the Sun is in the 1st primordial energy activating Anat, the Goddess of Will and Aggression.

VENUS and THE ELEUSINIAN MYSTERIES
Venus (as Morning Star Urania) enters Aries on March 21 and reaches superior conjunction late on March 25 – meaning Venus is on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth. Mythically speaking, Venus has spent the last seven months descending through the seven gates of the Underworld, and is about to meet her sister – the Shadow on the other side of the Sun – the Queen of the Underworld.
As the higher octave of Earth – and the guiding energy of the Earth’s current position in Libra – Venus uniting with her Shadow imbues Ostara 2021 with the potential for deeper understanding of the cycle of life and death. We have opportunity to explore both the Greater and Lesser Eleusinian Mysteries at the same time.

OSTARA BLESSINGS 2021
Take a moment on this day of balance to consider death and its necessity at a primordial level… and then appreciate the rebirth of life here on earth.
The Sun represents Spirit (who we are within the collective) and the Earth represents the Self (the assimilated individual). At Ostara, Spirit is urging the collective towards individuality – birthing life from the great cosmic womb – but individually we experience an urge towards socialization – coming out of winter hibernation to connect with others and to the natural world around us.
Take a walk in Nature.
Feel the warmth of the sun upon your face and the support of the earth beneath your feet.
Know that what sprouted at Imbolg grows roots at Ostara.
