Samhain is often referred to as the Witch’s New Year. What this actually means is the Spiritual New Year. As with the Blood Mysteries – where we start in the blood – the spiritual new year starts in the dark. This is the time when the compost of the previous years, endings, and deaths is made fertile.
Everything is built upon the past. There is no rebirth without first death.
