THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR
At the Vernal Equinox, the solar energies birthed at Yule unite with the earthly energies growing out of Imbolg to bring forth life and the rising of the God at Ostara.
The God at Ostara
“Alala!”
Hear the battle cry of the God as the Sun moves into Mars-guided Aries, the sign of action, initiation, and the warrior, and the first sign of the zodiac.
At Yule the God was born and at Imbolg he embodied growth for the entire group, as the Lord of Life. After growing and understanding his transcendent role as both son and father, the Wheel of the Year turns and the God bursts forth full of vitality and virility!
Day and Night are equally matched today but, at the end of the battle, Day will win and daylight hours will begin to outnumber the dark. The Martian energies of the God win out over his Plutonian side and life is renewed once again.
The Goddess at Ostara
As for the Goddess, She gained a sense of herself in Leo and has spent the last month growing and maturing through the earth sign, Virgo (Virgin meaning “whole unto Herself”). Now, the Goddess ascends from the earth and moves into harmonizing, Venus-guided, Libra. In the partnering sign of Libra, the fertile Goddess looks to unite with the virility of the God to resurrect life on earth; her soil is ready for seed.
Balance of the Equinox
The equinox (“equal night”) is a time to reflect on the dual – and balanced – nature of existence. The Goddess is a constant while the God fluctuates. The Goddess is the quiet while the God is the noise. The Goddess is the stillness when the God is activity. The Goddess is the feminine as the God is the masculine. On and on it goes…
The God is also dual within himself, being both a solar and earthly deity; the Sun King and Horned God respectively. Even within both those incarnations the God is dual, representing light and dark as the Sun King, and life and death as the Horned God. On and on it goes…
Ostara 2022
The balance and duality of existence is quite explicit this Ostara with three significant conjunctions:
Venus and Mars meet face to face, representing the balance of gender – feminine/masculine
Mars and Pluto meet face to face, representing the balance of polarity – life/death
Venus and Pluto meet face to face – balance of both gender and polarity

GIRDLE OF THE GODDESS
In the language of Theodomy, the 12 signs of the zodiac are further divided into 36 primordial energies of the divine feminine, called the Girdle of the Goddess.
At the time of Ostara, the Sun is in the 1st primordial energy activating Anat, the Goddess of Aggression and Will. See my post ANAT for more details.
The Sun represents Spirit (who we are within the collective) and the Earth represents the Self (the assimilated individual). At Ostara, Spirit is urging the collective towards individuality – birthing life from the great cosmic womb – but individually we experience an urge towards socialization – coming out of winter hibernation to connect with others and to the natural world around us.
What sprouted at Imbolg grows roots at Ostara.
